Le Marche

Of Le Marche it is said you can discover everything Italy has to offer. This splendid district is becoming more and more a place of interest.

Located close to the Apennijnen, Le Marche is a magical region with hills and the sea. The untouched undulating inland country of Le Marche is just as much of an attraction as the many beaches and cities in the area. The snow covered tops of the Monti Sibilini, a superb area to walk and ski, are particularly beautiful.

As mentioned, there are sweet hillocks which remind you of Toscane, but there are also mountains, deep gullies and ravines . On the coast you will find beautiful beaches with magnificent cliffs and rock formations such as at Monte Conero.

Greek, Roman, Piceense and medieval history and culture is predominant in Le Marche, evident by the presence of amphitheatres, fountains, bronze statues, castles, towers and paintings, the masterpieces of the middle ages.

There are cultural towns such as Urbino, Fermo and Ascoli Piceno.

In each city, large or small, one finds palaces, museums and theatres, giving the feeling of an environment of art and music.

This is the country of Rafael, Gioachinno Rossini and many of other brilliant artists.

The Marche consists of many small communities, villages, boroughs and castles where artistic and old-fashioned activities still take place. It is also a predominant agricultural area.

World famous are the trendy articles, shoes, furniture, music instruments, precious paper, ceramics, but also biological and natural foodstuffs such as pasta, wine, truffles, cheese and smoked meat. You can also enjoy excellent wines such as the Roso de Conero, made locally in Le Marche.

All this testifies of creative and active population of Le Marche.

In the whole region there are numerous cultural and traditional events held every year with music, theatre and wine festivals, art exhibitions and traditional festivities in medieval attire where the visitor can experience the atmosphere from close by.

The beauty of the landscape of the Marche, together with the politeness and natural friendly hospitality of the people, the fragrances and taste of the local cuisine, leaves all who visit the area with the most unforgettable feeling.

Taking all of this into account, judge for yourself. You will be convinced you must return to this place. All the ingredients for the holiday of a lifetime are present here, therefore as the Italians say - ‘Vienni pure’ or you are welcome!

We hope to see you on '' Casa Onda greet '' sometime.
