Let’s introduce ourselves.

We are Marjo and Fred Geurtsen.

After much daydreaming we decided, rather on impulse, to visit the second home exhibition in Utrecht In March 2004. This is organized annually with the emphasis on the availability of housing abroad. It was then that we started our search for properties in the province Piceno in the southern region of Le Marche in the vicinity of Abruzzen. In the past, we had spent many holidays in this area, located on the coast near Grottamare and San Benedetto del Tronto.

In September 2004 and again February 2005 we started our search with the assistance of a Real estate agent.

In February we were confronted with knee high snow, especially in the Cupramontana area, after 2 days of heavy snow fall. At that time however, the sun was shining brilliantly and on the coast it seemed like spring time with 17 degrees registered at Senigallia. It was then that we had our first glimpse of Casa Onda nestling between the magnificent hillocks of this area. We returned the following May and were confronted with a landscape of wonderful spring colours. We knew instinctively that we felt at home in this place. It did not take long before, after deliberation with our agent, we purchased Casa Onda.
