Grotte di Frasassi

The caves are located southwest of the city of Jesi and have been formed, during the centuries, by the waters of the river Sentino. These are Europe’s largest public caves extending 18 kilometers with only a small part is accessible. The colossal del Vento caves are so huge the Milan cathedral would easily fit inside. The ceiling is, in some places, 240 meters high.
